Milwaukee Burnsians Celebrate Lucky 13
by David Brannan
Rantin, Rovin Reporter
The Robert Burns Club of Milwaukee celebrated its 13th anniversary and
commemorated the 203rd anniversary of the death of Robert Burns on Sunday,
25 July. A few of us kicked things off at the Burns memorial at the
convergence of Prospect Avenue, Knapp Street, and Franklin Place. It is
unfortunate that this area of handsome older buildings and a stately modern
apartment tower is being encroached upon by new buildings badly masquerading
as old ones. But I digress.
Club president Linda Daly explained the significance of the flowers that
made up the club’s hand-made wreath that we laid at the base of the
monument.
