Burns Supper |
Some can dance and some can sing,
I've heard that some can do a Highland Fling.
They've been known as pipers and drummers, too,
And makers of that wonderful brew.
That's tea, of course. What were you thinking of?
They bear our children, a wonderful blessing,
Thank goodness the Lord arranged it that way.
For we men would have objected the very first day.
They share our beds and comfort us too,
And make wise decisions to help us get through.
Because life is not always rosy and calm,
Their soothing words can be a real balm.
So here's to our lassies, may they always be near.
Rabbie would agree I know,
And in better words would tell you so
If I could reach back o'er the years
And snatch Rabbie here among my peers,
A sweet word to each lass he'd say
And sweep all their hearts away.
